An aperture is an opening or hole in photography or optics. In this project, the architecture is an aperture to the lake - an intentional opening that draws the landscape through the home. From the moment of arrival, a direct spatial cut establishes an uninterrupted flow from the front of the house to the water beyond, allowing the lake to be experienced immediately and continuously. The architecture frames, filters, and focuses the view, transforming the lake from a backdrop into the organizing element of the plan.
